Choosing Games For Wii U Virtual Console

The Wii U offers a wide variety of games. However there will be occasions where you think of older titles. These are the favourites people remember and want to share. However it is worth noting that there are games for Wii U virtual console available from a wide variety of older gaming devices.

The titles available will depend on the region you are buying from. For example in Europe you are restricted to the PAL titles available for download. However with 101 currently available titles it is likely that there will be something available that will be ideal for your personal gaming needs!

The furthest back are the ones available from the original Nintendo Entertainment System. These include classic titles such as Super Mario Bros, Zelda and Punch Out. Super Mario Bros is often credited as one of the iconic platformers. Its creator Shigeru Miyamoto was also behind the creation of Zelda, a beloved fantasy franchise that is still going strong to this day while Punch Out offers an arcade style boxing game that is pure fun!

After the NES came the Super Nintendo. Many gaming aficionados believe the 16 bit era produced some of the finest games in what is still a relatively young artform. While the graphics may not be as advanced as the latest consoles this represented an evolution of pick up and play gaming.

There are over a hundred titles currently available on the virtual console. They range from the Nintendo Entertainment System and the SNES to machines from other games companies such as the Sega Master System, the Neo Geo and even some titles that were previously only available in the arcade. Therefore it is possible to get a wide array of games.

The titles currently available include games from the Nintendo Entertainment System, the Super Nintendo Entertainment system as well as handheld consoles the Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS. There are also set to be titles available from the N64 available for download and there are likely to be others available in future. What you may not know is you can also get downloads of titles from non Nintendo consoles such as the Sega Master System, the Commordore 64 and even some titles that were only available to play in arcades!

The cost of the consoles depends on the age of the machine. Therefore a title you download from the Super Nintendo will be a bit more expensive than one that you download from the NES. If you previously downloaded titles on the Wii virtual console then you can also transfer them on to the Wii U.

There is also the fact that the downloadable versions of the titles will have extra features that take advantage of the Wii U controls. It is worth looking at reviews before you download in order to find this out as well as getting an idea of how much the download will cost. In short the Wii U virtual console is the perfect place if you want to enjoy retro Nintendo games without the fuss!
